Here are some interesting features of LUCID DATA (V 1.8 anyway). 
It concerns control of recalculation of the spreadsheet while entering data 
from a VIEW file.
 
 
EXAMPLE
This is the VIEW file:
 
 
               RECORD [# ]
 
A=[A#    ] A/2=[B#     ] A/2=[C1     ]
 
 
This is the LUCID spreadsheet:

001    +45      +A1/2    +A#/2

	The C1 formula will automatically update the current RECORD
(row) after each entry from a VIEW file (as soon as you press the ENTER button)
no matter which RECORD you are currently looking at. The B1,B2...etc. 
formulas will not update until you go back into LUCID and press F2 (calc). 
Using the C1 formula also has the advantage of using less memory.
	General Rule is: Regular fields don't update; Virtual fields do.

Another feature:
	The cell "+SUM(A#:A249)" will always display the sum of the cells 
starting at the current record up to the upper limit, in this case 10.
 
	+SUM(A1:A249)-SUM(A#:A249)
 
would show the sum of column A for all records up to the ONE PRECEEDING the 
current record that is displayed in the VIEW file. (to include the current 
record just tack on +A# )
	TBL also likes Virtual celrefs:

 
	+TBL(A#,B#,AA1:AC25)
 
is perfectly legal for display in a VIEW file (but will give an ERR message
in LUCID spreadsheet)

	All of these cells will evaluate to 0 or ERR after pressing F2 
from the LUCID spreadsheet itself (not looking at it from a VIEW file),
I think this is a bug as it should read " *DATA*" or somehow clue you.

	I have also found that you can only use the # symbol (by itself, 
meaning record number) once in a VIEW file, it always displays with the last 
occurence.
 
              Record [#  ]
A=[A#    ]  B=[B#     ]  C=[C#     ]
          A/[#  ]records=[D#    ]

would only display the record number (#)in the slot on the third line
(A/number of records) and not the first. 
The other cellrefs (A#,B#,etc.) can be used multiple times.

Another LUCID DATA feature to note:

	In order to enter numbers without having to preceed them with a "+";
format the column by putting any number in the proper column (field) at 
row (record) 250. Unlike LUCID, LUCID DATA assumes everything is alpha and 
not numeric.
