CAPTURED MESSAGE: #: 148729 S7/Utilities 25-May-87 22:20:08 Sb: #Kill a RAM file Fm: Paul Globman 72227,1661 To: All A nice feature of the Tandy 200 is the ability to place the widebar cursor over a filename and press a function key AT THE MENU to kill a file and free the RAM it occupied. The Model 100 doesn't allow this...until now. Just type in this 2 line BASIC program and SAVE it as KILL.BA. 1 AD=64929+2*PEEK(65006):AD=PEEK(AD)+256*PEEK(AD+1):FOR I=3 TO 10:F$=F$+CHR$(PEEK(AD+I)):IF I=8 THEN F$=F$+"." 2 NEXT:KILL F$:MENU Now you can place the widebar cursor over any RAM file [on the 100 menu] and type "KILL.BA" to delete that file. Use CHANGE.100 to make KILL.BA invisible and eliminate the ".BA". Now your M100 appears to have a built in KILL command! If you KILL a .BA file, you will remain in BASIC. To fix this, use this alternate LINE 2. 2 NEXT:M$="MENU"+CHR$(13):AD=65450:POKE AD,6:FOR I=1 TO 5:M=ASC(MID$(M$,I,1)):POKE AD+2*I,M:POKE AD+2*I+1,M:NEXT:KILL F$
