The way <> usually do it is to connect the newly Cold Started M100 to another computer (any one with a Model 100 compatible RS-232), and then execute this short one liner: OPEN "COM:37I1E" FOR OUTPUT AS 1: FOR X = 32768 TO MAXRAM: PRINT #1, CHR$ (PEEK (X));: NEXT: END (Actually, the COM setting could be anything, whatever you normally use with a direct-hook up). On the receiving computer, you should get a bit of garbage, followed by some intelligible data. Since you know the addresses where the files were, you can substitute FOR X = 54262 TO 56410 for the 32768 to MAXRAM in the above line. When enough has been transmitted, set up the receiving computer to transfer the data back to the Model 100, capturing the data to a file called "RECOV.DO". Then, edit the file and PASTE the contents of the NOTE file into a new file called NOTE.DO, and likewise for ADRS.DO. This may not be the easiest for everybody, but it is simple for me. You may be able to figure an alternative using a cassette, DVI, or anything else (how about CompuServe?). =====> larry <===== * Reply: 39889 (UA RE T):
