Date: Jan 28,1987, Wed Page 1 ====================== PowrDOS Modification for Executive Calendar ====================== I have been asked by a few people about a PowrDOS mod for some of the older Tandy programs for the M100. At the end of this file is a program patch for the Executive Calendar program (CALNDR.BA). All you have to do is paste out the patch, check the checksum with DOWNCK.BA, and merge the patch with the cassette version of CALNDR.BA. Then just save it to disk. The program as patched is designed to be used with a disk data file named CALNDR.DO. If this file is not present the program will beep and allow you to start a new CALNDR.DO file or load a NOTE.DO file from tape. You also have the options to write the respective data file to disk or to cassette as you desire. As in the original CALNDR.BA you MUST WRITE THE FILE YOURSELF by choosing the appropriate function key. The program does not auto save to the disk on exit. This is easy to change if you want. I keep DMENU.BA in RAM almost all of the time and CALNDR is patched to return to DMENU if it is in RAM. I find it most convenient to run this program from DMENU using the transient program area. You can then exit to DMENU and load another program right over it if you wish. I use the name CALNDR.DO instead of NOTE to keep from having a number of 'NOTE' files using different program formats and containing different data. If you rather use NOTE.DO as a file name simply change it in the patch before merging. DO NOT LOAD CALNDR.DO TO RAM BEFORE RUNNING THE PROGRAM. The program will not load the file either but instead will read the data from the disk file. The elimination of all of this loading, saving, killing et al. is one of the primary advantages of PowrDOS. There is nothing intricate or complicated about this patch and it should be easy for you to modify to suit your purposes. I have already modified a number of my old Tandy programs to take advantage of PowrDOS's unique features. I will be happy to UL these also if enough folks on the SIG show an interest in these programs. If you would like to know if I have a patch to a particular program and want to place a request for it please leave me a message on the SIG. My PPN is 70337,3727. -ronnie- Ronald D.
