BA2CLC.TIP (c)1989 Wilson Van Alst [76576,2735] For those who've wondered: there _is_ a simple way to make use of the T200 calculator while running a BASIC program. The calcultor function is available whenever BASIC is in the "blinking cursor" mode, waiting for a keyboard entry. So, you can use it whenever you're facing an INPUT or LINEINPUT prompt -- as in: 10 INPUT"Your name";N$ or 20 LINEINPUT"Name (Last,First): ";N$ In the above examples, you can use the calculator any time before you press the key to complete the input statement. The calculator will also come up while BASIC is waiting for a single keypress with the INPUT$(1) command. Here is an example: 10 A$=INKEY$:IFA$=CHR$(27)THENGOSUB99 20 PRINT"n":GOTO10 99 CLS:PRINT:PRINT"Calculator available. Press any key to resume program.":A$=INPUT$(1):RETURN As the program runs, a touch of the key will take you down to Line 99, which gives you access to the calculator. Once you've finished with it, any keypress will take you back to the main program loop. Line 99 could also be written: 99 CLS:PRINT:LINEINPUT"Calculator available. Press to resume program.";A$:RETURN Of course, you don't need the detector in Line 10, above, if you're writing a program with ONKEY GOSUB interrupts; you can use an F-key to take you to Line 99 at any point in the program execution. But remember: you don't need any special GOSUBs to use the calculator while you're responding to an INPUT or LINEINPUT prompt from BASIC.
