Fm: LOUIS SELF 74076,1273 To: Mile Aiello 71066,155 Do these MORSE... programs operate on the Tandy 200? Fm: Tony Anderson 76703,4062 To: LOUIS SELF 74076,1273 There was a MORSE.BA in DL3 for some time, and a new one was uploaded in the recent contest. When it was moved into DL3 with the other communications files, the name was changed to MORSE2.BA, to differentiate it from the first file with the same name. Fm: LOUIS SELF 74076,1273 To: All What supurb programing (found in DL3)! I tested and tweeked these jewels for use on the Model 200. Here are my notes: >>> MORSE.BA runs unchanged on the Tandy 200. These are lines as changed by me, along with comments: 130 Z$=M$:PRINT"Messege...":LINEINPUTM$:IFM$=""THENM$=Z$ Added Z$ to enable repeating same message with 1000 FORC=0TO60:NEXTC Adjusted the speed by changing the 47 to 60 1070 IFB>0THENSOUND2000,8 ELSE SOUND2000,2 Adjusted the speed by changing the 6 to 8 and the 1 to 2 respectively >>> MORSE.RK runs on the T-200 if the CALL statements are removed in lines 1 & 13. I wonder what they did, anyway. >>> MORSE2.BA runs on the T-200 if the CALL statements are removed in lines 6 & 11. Don't have any idea what THEY did, either. In addition, I made changes in the following lines: 6 SCREEN 0,0:KEY OFF Deleted the CALL 11 CLS:KEY OFF:CLOSE:C$=CHR$(13):KEY1,"Files"+C$:KEY2,"Load"+CHR$(34) :KEY3,"Save "+CHR$(34):KEY4,"Run"+C$:KEY5,"EDIT."+C$:KEY6,"CLS"+C$+"LIST-."+ C$:KEY7,"Cls"+C$:KEY7,"LLIST."+C$:KEY8,"Menu"+C$:MAXFILES=1:MENU Deleted the CALL. Added code to leave the function keys to my liking 106 FQ=2500:NL=2:TF#=50:BM=1:CM=3:WM=5:WP=10:RETURN Changing the 6000 to 2500 makes the default pitch higher 112 KP=600+(KX-1)*5:PRINT@KP, KY$(KX);:KEY KX,"":KEY (KX) ON:KA(KX)=0:RETURN KP=600 rather than 280, puts the lables at the bottom of the screen Now maybe I'll finally learn the code that Mr. Samuel Morris came up with so long ago... #: 159158 S10/Tandy 200 25-Oct-87 22:55:02 Sb: MORSE.BA on Tandy 200 Fm: Tony Anderson 76703,4062 To: LOUIS SELF 74076,1273 In MORSE.RK, the CALL in Line 1 locks out screen scroll. The two calls in line 13 turn on, then off, the reverse video function, and are functionally equivalent to (ESC)"p"/(ESC)"q". In MORSE2.BA, the CALL in line 6 clears the function key definition table, and the two calls in line 11 restore the table to it's brand-new, default condition. While MORSE2.BA works fine, it's a brute-force programming method. Seems like it would have been easier to setup most of the SOUND statements as subroutines, and call them as needed, rather than line after line of the necessary SOUND statements that sound out the letters.
